Learners must be aged 16 or over (VTCT Skills age restriction for this qualification).

Learners are required to hold a level 3 beauty therapy qualification or equivalent.

This qualification is made up of one mandatory unit, which learners must achieve:

• Advanced epilation techniques (UV40412 / F/601/5658) - Level 4, 7 credits, 47 guided learning hours

Throughout the qualification you will develop the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to carry out a thorough consultation, formulate an individual treatment plan and use advanced electrical epilation techniques to treat skin tags, milia, telangiectasia, spider naevi and blood spots. Providing aftercare advice and working to high standards of health, safety and hygiene are also key elements of this qualification.

You will be assessed on your occupational competence.

Learners must achieve the single mandatory unit, Advanced epilation techniques (UV40412 / F/601/5658).

Learners may choose to further develop their knowledge and skills by completing additional specialist qualifications in the VTCT Skills Beauty Aesthetics suite, for example:

• Skin peeling
• Skin needling
• Laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments
• Micropigmentation and microblading

Learners can also progress to the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 5 Certificate in Advanced Blemish Removal.
